Advanced laser treatments have officially arrived at Secret Skin Barn with the introduction of the Optimas Max by InMode!

This is one of the biggest investments we've made since opening The Barn, and for good reason. It means we can expand our treatment offering with advanced technology for laser hair removal, IPL photo facials, thread vein removal, body contouring, skin tightening and more.

So, what makes the Optimas Max different? And why does the technology behind your treatment matter just as much as the treatment itself? Let's take a closer look.

Meet The Optimas Max

If you've ever researched laser treatments, you'll probably have come across dozens of different machines, all claiming to be the latest and greatest.

The truth is, there isn't one laser that's right for every treatment.

Different skin concerns need different wavelengths, different energy levels and different technologies. Hair behaves differently to pigmentation. Pigmentation behaves differently to thread veins. Skin tightening works completely differently again.

That's exactly why we chose the Optimas Max by InMode.

Instead of relying on a single technology, it's a multi-technology treatment platform that combines laser, IPL and radiofrequency into one system. Each treatment has its own dedicated hand piece, specifically designed for the concern being treated, so we're always using the most appropriate technology rather than trying to make one treatment fit every situation.

But Why Do Different Skin Concerns Need Different Technologies?

Every concern you're trying to treat looks completely different beneath the skin.

Hair removal targets melanin, the pigment inside the hair follicle. Pigmentation treatments target excess melanin that's collected within the skin following years of sun exposure, hormonal changes or ageing. Thread vein treatments focus on haemoglobin, the protein found inside blood vessels. Skin tightening treatments don't target pigment at all. Instead, they gently heat the deeper layers of the skin to stimulate collagen production and encourage the body's natural repair processes.

Trying to treat all of those concerns with one technology wouldn't produce the best results, which is why the Optimas Max has been designed as a platform rather than just a laser.

The Science Behind Laser Treatments

Although we use the word "laser" to describe these treatments, there are actually several different technologies working behind the scenes.

Laser treatments use carefully controlled light energy that travels beneath the surface of the skin. Rather than affecting the entire treatment area, the light is absorbed by a specific target, known as a chromophore. Depending on the treatment, that target might be pigment within the hair, excess melanin causing pigmentation or haemoglobin inside a visible blood vessel.

Once absorbed, the light converts into heat. That heat creates a controlled response within the body, whether that's disabling a hair follicle, breaking down unwanted pigment or collapsing a visible blood vessel. Over the following days and weeks, your body naturally clears away the treated tissue, revealing healthier-looking skin.

Other treatments within the Optimas Max platform use radiofrequency energy instead of light. Rather than targeting pigment, radiofrequency gently heats the deeper layers of the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin production, improving skin firmness, texture and elasticity over time.

It's this precision that makes our laser treatments so effective. Instead of treating the whole surface of the skin, the energy is delivered exactly where it's needed while protecting the surrounding tissue.

What Can The Optimas Max Do?

One of the reasons we invested in the Optimas Max is its versatility. Instead of offering one or two laser treatments, we're able to treat a wide variety of concerns using dedicated technologies developed specifically for each treatment. Here's what you can expect.

Laser Hair Removal

Shaving, waxing and plucking might remove unwanted hair temporarily, but they don't address the cause of the problem. Laser hair removal works differently.

Using the DiolazeXL handpiece, laser energy is absorbed by the pigment inside the hair follicle, damaging it and significantly reducing future hair growth.

Over time, you'll notice hair becoming finer, lighter and much less noticeable, leaving skin smoother with less irritation, fewer ingrown hairs and less time spent shaving.

IPL Photo Facials

If pigmentation, sun damage or redness have started to affect your confidence, IPL is one of the most effective ways to restore a brighter, more even complexion.

Using Lumecca, high-intensity pulses of light target unwanted pigment and visible blood vessels beneath the skin without damaging the surrounding tissue. As your body naturally clears them away, pigmentation fades, redness reduces and skin appears clearer and healthier.

Thread Vein & Vessel Removal

Visible thread veins, spider veins and broken capillaries can be difficult to cover with makeup and won't usually disappear by themselves.

Using VasculazeMAX, laser energy is absorbed by the blood within the unwanted vessel, causing it to gently collapse. Over the following weeks, the body naturally breaks the vessel down and absorbs it, leaving the surrounding skin untouched.

It's a precise treatment that can be used on both the face and body to reduce visible veins while restoring a clearer, more even complexion.

Morpheus8

Already one of our most popular treatments, Morpheus8 combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy to remodel the deeper layers of the skin.

Tiny needles create controlled micro-injuries while radiofrequency heats the tissue beneath, stimulating collagen and elastin production where it matters most. This makes Morpheus8 an excellent treatment for improving skin laxity, acne scarring, fine lines, wrinkles and overall skin quality.

With the arrival of the Optimas Max, we've also upgraded our Morpheus8 technology, bringing the treatment onto InMode's latest platform.

Forma Skin Tightening

Forma uses gentle radiofrequency energy to heat the deeper layers of the skin, encouraging collagen remodelling without downtime. It's a comfortable treatment suitable for both the face and body, helping to improve mild skin laxity while creating smoother, firmer and healthier-looking skin.

Many clients choose Forma as part of a longer-term skin maintenance plan or alongside other treatments for enhanced results.

MiniFX Body Contouring

Sometimes healthy eating and exercise aren't enough to shift stubborn pockets of fat.

MiniFX combines radiofrequency energy with vacuum-assisted technology to target localised fat while improving skin firmness at the same time. Common treatment areas include the chin, abdomen, thighs and arms, helping create a more sculpted appearance without surgery or lengthy recovery.
